Well organised event in beautiful surroundings
Thank you for another superbly organised event, and to all volunteers giving up their time.
As usual, it was hot, but as to be expected in June. I appreciated the 21km route modification this year for more shade. Unfortunately my GPS watch came up 500m short at the end, but that's probably due to tree cover and some sharp turns rather than an issue with the route.
It's an annual event for us, along with our friends and family and it's great that there are a variety of distances, including the kids race first thing. I'd actually ask timings to not get earlier as it was already a logistical challenge to shepherd everyone and the kids to be ready to go at 8:45!
Very well organised as always.
Great fun on a great course.
Please bring back the kilometre distance markers - quite hard for casual runners to judge the race without these. I also heard several others saying they missed these.
I understand the distance marker comments especially, as you say, from casual runners that don’t use GPS watches etc. this year, to try and keep the 21K runners in the shade for longer, their course was altered which essentially meant there was a 3 way split. That meant that for the first 2 or 3 km everyone was the same but after that the distances covered varied depending upon the route you were on. The solution would be for three different sets of distance markers but we are only a very small group that organize this event and we just run out of time. We do appreciate your feedback but we decided that moving the 21K was justified because of likely heat concerns.
Good family event. Tough course.
Brilliant! Beautiful course. Thanks
Another fantastic event. Well done to the organisers for their extremely hard work in putting this event together and to the Marshalls for giving up their time on the day. I will be back again next year.
Interesting Route
Be careful of tree routes!!
Great trail runs
Great event for the whole family, offering lots of options on courses. Probably could do with a few more water stations along the routes, but otherwise a fun morning out.
Excellent
Excellent event as always!
Next race, could you add the year to the medals (for returning runners)?

Amazing
Friendly and well-organised event with plenty of volunteers
2nd time here and loved it
Fab event, great organisation. Easy to get to, plenty of parking, lots of loos, plenty of water provided as it was a hot day (again!). Friendly atmosphere, lots of support. Can't really think of any negatives. Oh, could you make it a bit cooler for next year please?
Enjoyable race with lots of atmosphere
Entered this race as an alternative to another 10k (that's on roads, and notoriously hot, held on the same date) and did not regret it. As a "summer cross-country" it was both scenic and enjoyable, though hot, but you can't control that, the two water stations plus more at the finish were good for a 10k.
Parking, course marking and marshalling was very thorough and well-organised.
The finishers medal is one of the best I've received from any event.
Toilets were plentiful, though the queue seemed long it moved very quickly due to single shared queue system so not a problem at all. The warmup followed by "War of the Worlds" music leading into the start created a superb atmosphere. And the photos afterwards are much appreciated.
One tiny point, maybe warming up in the start funnel was a little cramped (trying not to bash the person next to me!) it might have been better to do that in a more open area then move runners into the start funnel, but it worked OK.
Great day, impeccable organisation, friendly!
great route, good atmosphere and very good organisation - Well done
My favourite race of the year
This is the 4th year I’ve done this race and my favourite. Predominantly flat with a small hill at the start and finish through beautiful woodland countryside and over boardwalks over ponds. It is a pleasure to run.
My kids love this run and we do it every year!
Great for fast and slow runners of all ages
Almost a walk in the park.
Half marathon should start an hour earlier. Liked the new route lay out.
An amazing event
The event is so well run, the atmosphere is great for all the runners. The 2k juniors race is an amazing spectacle and so enjoyable for everyone. My only feedback would be to get another ice cream van as the wait times are so long!
Hot, hot, hot
I was surprised that there were no KM markers on the course. I have run in many races and having information about the distance you have covered is essential when trying to establish your pace. I found the first part of the race difficult because I wasn’t able to establish my pace, particularly important on such a hot day.
We have tried distance markers but this year, to keep the 21k in the shade as much as possible, there was a 3 way split so distance markers would have to be per event. There is only a small team of us and only a certain amount of time.
