I was pleased to have taken my own water. The worst part of the whole day was a mouthful of diesel fumes from the ice cream van on the last corner. Aside from that everything was well organised, and the marshals were fantastic.

As the numbers grow and popularity increases, have more vendors? Coffee truck is great but sometimes cannot cope with demand.

Route was well signposted, lots of marshals. Mostly uneven underfoot but that’s expected. Very well organised and great medal. Nice to know that profit goes to charity.

Event should start earlier due to the heat in summer months, also the volume of email communications was too high, I don't know any other event that sends this many emails.

The last few KM of the course I found were a bit too narrow - especially when the 10k runners catch up with the tail end of the 21k runners, and then merge with the 5k runners on quite a thin path and narrow boardwalk. There's only room for single-file at this point, and its a bit of a momentum-killer especially as you then come out the forest and up a short sharp grassy hill. Not sure if the way around this would be to stagger the start times a bit more, or to have all races start concurrently which would eliminate the bunching up here - the first 1k-1500m and last 500m had more than adequate room for the amount of runners, just the narrow sections were almost impossibly narrow in my opinion

Other than that, loved the event, very varied trail course, well supported with friendly marshals

Slight gripe about the weird 'no bicycles in the car-park' rule, seemingly via dictat from Maclaren. Silly and unnecessary inconvenience for cyclists, as it meant dragging bike through densely wooded, brambly public footpath. I hope Maclaren rethinks this petty and retrograde rule next year. We need to make it really convenient to cycle to these things!

Overall I thought the event was really well organised from parking venue to runners village.
The marshals were excellent and the course was well laid out. Possibly there could have been more distance markers but with most runners having Garmin watches this may well not be necessary.

Shame McLarens don’t allow cyclists to enter via the road - not cycle friendly for those runners not wanting to drive to the event

I had a great time at my first Martian Race. The route was very flat for a trail race but still scenic, all the marshals were so friendly and supportive on the way round, and there were plenty of water stops in the blazing heat. Would highly recommend and will likely be back again in future!

Big whoop to the organisers, and the marshalls all the way around. I took a tumble and scratched my legs and they could not be more helpful and considerate all the way around. Always checking on me and offering extra water.

The terrain is wonderful too! Made it so much fun running through the woods. It was such a happy race. I would definitely do it again.

The race was my first and I appreciated the fact that it wasn't overcrowded. The instructions (emailed beforehand) were clear and the event ran to time. I had not expected to get a medal or my time, so was delighted with both! Friendly, supportive marshals. A really positive experience.

It would be great to have some degree of entertainment for families who come to support, as they're on site for 1hr on average whilst runners are completing the race.

Keep the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. This is what makes you unique and stand out!!

The marshalls at the event and in particular around the course were absolutely amazing, so encouraging and friendly. It really spurred you on to keep going. Absolutely loved it and will definitely do it again.

Would be nice to have the year of the race on medals and t-shirts.
