Brilliant event. But there should have been more water stations en route.
Was slightly horrified that the event had low water when I finished the 10k and I wasn’t allowed a second cup. On the hottest day of the year, at a running event, there should have been way more water available. Last time I did it we were all offered fruit too. The 21km runners hadn’t come in and there would have been no water. I was told there was ‘some on the way’ really not good enough when it was 30 degrees.
Great fun race
More water stops were needed at least every 2k on such a hot day
Great event and well organised
Overall great event, could maybe think about;
It was unclear in the instructions what the water arrangements were, i.e Water in cups at 4, 6, 10 miles for Half Marathon or whatever
Maybe the start area layout could improve the atmosphere, it was quite spread out
The bring a can could have been highlighted more
Not trying to be negative with these, as thought it really well organised and all the helpers and Marshalls were fantastic
Very well organised
Great course!
Loved today’s event. It was a great course. The organisation was fantastic and the Marshalls were brilliant! It was so hot (uncontrollable) so we cold have done with an extra water station or 2 but it was a great event and we will be back next year! Thank you
Races need to start earlier
We know it’s Summer so perhaps more water stations or misting stations
Certainly a Heat Ray on Horsell Common
Paper cups at the hydration station: Not too many plastics or throwaway freebies (good for sustainability). Good quality metal medals which will have return customer sif the designs are unique each year. Great number of friendly marshalls and just right number of well maintained portaloos. Now if you could just make it a bit cooler next year...
Lovely race but today with a big ‘but’
Was such a shame after finishing the 10k (am not fast) in 1.19 on a very hot day to go up to the drinks station at the ended, handed half a cup of water and like I was a naughty child told ‘don’t take another we have run out once already’. Firstly there’s much nicer ways to give the same message, secondly - it was really hot today so would suggest you had a duty to provide more than half a cup at the end. Second time of doing and I will do again as won’t let one volunteers attitude put me off but it did make myself and my friends comment less positively just as we were pleased we had finished
We have enjoyed it .
Weather was hot so more water stations should of been provided
Stuwarts where great. Limited water on the hottest day , should of been on someone’s risk assessment!
And Aldo I finished in 2hrs 15 mins most of the stalls where closed and the area looked abandoned. No atmosphere at the end after such a long hot slog
Loved it!
Good fun
Loved the stalls particular foundations and bee-live this made it more of an event and fun
Brilliantly organised, welcoming, a great atmosphere and lots of fun!
This was my 1st 10k run so I didn't know what to expect and was a little nervous. I didn't need to be, it was clear The Lions have it all under control. From the smooth registration and plentiful amenities to the army of marshalls helping throughout the course - it all came together for a great vibe and a race to remember. Thanks so much!
Hot but scenic and well organised
I thought this event was extremely well organised. The route was very scenic. I loved running through the woodland and along the boardwalks. A few degrees cooler would have been nice but rather that than be rained on. Cracking medal as well.
Nice event, well organised and very enjoyable.
I first did this in 2019, and the organisation has come along in leaps and bounds. The changes to the course are really good. The organisation is still slick. The only thing perhaps you could develop for the future is the atmosphere in the village, perhaps with music etc. to have a vibe. The part running through the car park of the farm is still a little nervous with idiot car drivers unaware of what’s happening. I will do it again.
If you could only turn down the sun a little!
Very well organised and friendly event. I hope you raised alot of money for your chosen charities. Unfortunately it was so hot today that even your 'shaded woodland' offered little relief. Would definitely do again. Thank-you to all those that volunteered.
21k done. Need far more water stops on such a hot day, which was predicted for weeks. Also an earlier start time!
Superb run in a great environment
Lovely charity event. Friendly Marshalls and excellent course though Horsell Woods.
Fantastic Fun Run
Very well organised, scenic route.
