Will do this every year till I die
Beautiful route, well marshalled and signposted, great warm up and energy, nice pre and post race village options. Easy parking, well organised, amazing medal, can’t fault it. Big love to Pete and Majid
Good fun and a lovely route
We missed the goodie bags at the end this year and I’d have preferred more of the route to be in the shade, but it was well signposted and all the volunteers were fantastic!
Excellent race, well organised, lovely route.
Could have done with more food, coffee choices for supporters who would have spent more money.
Great event
Great event with a really friendly vibe!
Really enjoyable morning in the heat of the June sun! Very well organised, lots of marshalls, plenty of toilets and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Mixed surfaces and a winding route, ideal for those dipping their toes into trail running (although I still managed to get sent sprawling by a rogue tree root!). Will hopefully run it again next year.
loved it coming back next year
Third year running in the event and it’s getting better each time.

Friendly and brilliantly run
Fantastic family event
My daughter ran the 2km race.
My son ran the 5km race.
My husband race the 10km race and I was holding all the bags!
It was well organised and the kids loved the enthusiastic warm up crew and a hug from the awesome person who was dressed up in the lion suit despite the hot temperatures! Big shout out to them.
Possible suggestions:
A marshal on the toilets to ensure that runners due to race are jumped to the head of the queue.
More toilets is often nice, but as i work in construction, i understand the huge costs of portaloos.
Possibly invite more coffee vans. Do you get a % from the coffee van profits towards your charity? We do this with our PTA events at the school.
It would be ideal to have the year on the race ribbon but i understand there may be a cost implication. The kids love the medal having an alien face!!
I love the fact your get a discount if you book early.
Finally my husband and son commented on how nice it was running in the shade of the forest and i got to shelter in the trees behind the coffee vans which was ideal.
Keep doing what you are doing and we are looking forward to signing up in 2026!
This was my first 10K trail race - tougher than I imagined, but an unforgettable experience!
A great local race!
Loved it. Great atmosphere. An event my younger sister and I could enjoy. Really well organised on day and good facilities having toilets, bag drops accessible from all.
Lovely run, almost a bit too hot but I made it round!
I was pleased to have taken my own water. The worst part of the whole day was a mouthful of diesel fumes from the ice cream van on the last corner. Aside from that everything was well organised, and the marshals were fantastic.
Gets better with every year!
Well organised and marshalled, everyone very friendly, great atmosphere!
As the numbers grow and popularity increases, have more vendors? Coffee truck is great but sometimes cannot cope with demand.
Great event in a great location with super marshals
Route was well signposted, lots of marshals. Mostly uneven underfoot but that’s expected. Very well organised and great medal. Nice to know that profit goes to charity.
Very hot!
Event should start earlier due to the heat in summer months, also the volume of email communications was too high, I don't know any other event that sends this many emails.
Thank you for your review. We have looked at starting earlier exactly for the reason you stated. However the logistics of this are hard. On the day I am on the course checking things (along with others) from 4:30am. The marshals have their briefing at 07:30. There is only so much you can ask of volunteers before they decide not to help us.
Warm, Varied and Fun
The last few KM of the course I found were a bit too narrow - especially when the 10k runners catch up with the tail end of the 21k runners, and then merge with the 5k runners on quite a thin path and narrow boardwalk. There's only room for single-file at this point, and its a bit of a momentum-killer especially as you then come out the forest and up a short sharp grassy hill. Not sure if the way around this would be to stagger the start times a bit more, or to have all races start concurrently which would eliminate the bunching up here - the first 1k-1500m and last 500m had more than adequate room for the amount of runners, just the narrow sections were almost impossibly narrow in my opinion
Other than that, loved the event, very varied trail course, well supported with friendly marshals
Beautiful, , fairly challenging course . Great atmosphere
