By entering this event, I agree to this event’s terms and conditions, which include details of my cancellation rights. I also understand that I am entering into a contract with the race organisers.
Disclaimer
I agree and abide by the rules of UK Athletics and the event. I understand that I enter the race at my own risk and that no person(s) or organisation(s) will be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss to myself, prior to, during or after the event. I understand the organisers reserve the right to alter the arrangements and conditions should circumstances require.
I declare that I am an amateur as defined by UK Athletics. I agree to abide by the current laws of competition of UK Athletics. I declare that I will run entirely at my own risk.
Photos
We will be taking photos at the Lions Martian 2, 5,10,21km race. These images will be used by the organisers to share news about the event, and to publicise future events. Images may be used in press releases, printed publicity and published on the Lions Martian 2,5,10,21km Race Facebook, instagram pages and website. The images will be stored securely and will be deleted when no longer required. If you would prefer for you or your child not to be photographed, or if you wish to have an image deleted or removed, please email racedirectoratmartiansrace@gmail.com
Corona virus
All entrants must strictly adhere to each and every element of government restrictions & recommendations as applicable at the time of the Lions Martian Race on Horsell common, as specified at https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus. In particular this must apply to & include social distancing courtesy to other recreational space or path users as well as other runners.
Booking
All entrants booking through the eventrac registration website do so entirely at their own risk and subject to the terms and conditions found at eventrac.co.uk. By following the link away from the Woking Lions website or The Martian Race website you are accepting that Woking Lions have no responsibility or liability arising out of or through your accessing and using the eventrac website.
Where online entries are used all applicants must check the box on the entry form to acknowledge they have read and understood the terms and conditions outlined in this document.
All entrants must accept that the nature of the event is physically demanding and that by entering this run they are confirming that they are capable of completing the event and that the organisers will not be held responsible for any injury or illness which might result through their participation.
The entrant waives and discharges the event organisers, event officials and personnel, land managers and/or owners including Horsell Common Preservation Society, McLaren, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, independent contractors, representatives, agents and volunteers, Woking Lions Club and its members, event sponsors and volunteers from any and all liability for death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft and all other foreseeable risks, claims or actions of any kind (including negligence) whatever and however occurring which may arise, at any time, from or in connection with, directly or indirectly, their participation in the event.
Refunds
Runners who cannot make the race for any reason, including travel arrangements and injury, will not be refunded.
In the unlikely event we need to cancel the event, entry fees will only be refundable at the sole discretion of the organisers, or we may opt to transfer to another date.
Trophies and Prizes
1.Prizes will be awarded on the basis of the official times.
2. Runners will only be awarded one individual prize of the highest prize value.
3. All prize winners will be displayed on the event website within 14 days of the race.
4. Age on race day determines age category entitlement.
5. There are only individual prizes; no team prizes.
6. All prizes and categories listed are subject to amendment.
7. Prizes will be awarded on the day shortly after the race finish.
8. Prizes will only be awarded based on the information submitted through the formal entry process. If runners have failed to supply any information relevant to the prize awards, then the data may not be included in the results after the race and they may not receive the relevant prize that could have been eligible for. It is the runners’ responsibility to ensure their entrant data is submitted accurately.
9. Any runner falsely claiming a prize through their entry data, by claiming to be someone else, or by any other fraudulent method will result in the prize being withdrawn from them.
10. All prizes must be collected within 4 weeks immediately following race day.
11. All appeals and correspondence to be addressed to the Race Director and sent to racedirectoratmartiansrace@gmail.com. The decision of the Race Referee shall be final.
Age Restrictions
Runners 4-13 can entry the 2km fun run.
Runners 9 years and over on the day of the The Lions Martian Race can enter the 5k race. But must be accompanied by fee paying adult.
Runners 16 years and over on the day of the The Lions Martian Race event can enter the 10k race.
Runners 17 years and over on the day of the The Lions Martian Race event can enter the 21k race.
Running with children
The 2k Kids fun run is designed for children 4 – 13 to complete themselves, but if your children would prefer to run with you that’s no problem, we will ask you to wait outside the kids zone until the race has started and then you may run once the pen has started to empty.
All children must be registered to run, but there is no need to register chaperones. Children with chaperones should start at the back of the pack.
All Kids entered will get a medal, but chaperones will not be eligible for one.
Refusal of entry
The event organisers maintain the right to refuse or revoke entry to any entrant entirely at our own discretion.
Data
We will handle personal senstive data (medical related) by accepting our Terms and Conditions you allow us to hold this data for the sole purposes of the race.
We will need to provide a subset of the data to our third party timing company called DB Max. only data needed for the purposes of the race will be provided to them. Name, Race Category, Race Time, and Race Video will be publised to the. DB Max timing page indefintely. Instructions for removal will be available on DB Max Website.
DB Max may need to contact you before the race about the race and by accepting our Terms and Conditions you allow them to do so.
